Karbosan – KFT Aluminium Oxide Fibre Disc

The Karbosan KFT Aluminium Oxide Fibre Disc is a reliable, cost-effective sanding and grinding solution designed for general metalworking and surface preparation tasks.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Karbosan KFT Fibre Disc is produced using aluminium oxide abrasive, a versatile and dependable grain well suited to general grinding, blending, and finishing on a wide range of metals. Bonded to a strong vulcanised fibre backing, the disc provides stability and durability under pressure while maintaining smooth, controllable cutting action.

As an entry-level fibre disc in the Karbosan range, the KFT is ideal for users who require dependable performance for routine grinding tasks without the need for premium zirconia or ceramic abrasives.

KEY BENEFITS

  • Quality aluminium oxide abrasive grain for dependable, consistent cutting.
Vulcanised fibre backing for strength and stability during use.
Smooth, controllable grinding action ideal for general purpose work.
Excellent value for everyday workshop and site applications.
Suitable for a wide range of metals including mild steel and non-ferrous materials.
Consistent performance across the life of the disc.
Professional quality at an economical price point.

RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS

The KFT Aluminium Oxide Fibre Disc is ideal for general surface preparation, light stock removal, blending, deburring, and edge finishing on metals. Particularly well suited for use on mild steel, sheet metal, and non-ferrous materials where aggressive grinding is not required.

Designed for use with angle grinders and fixed sanding machines in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, construction sites, and general engineering workshops.

Typical sizes include 100 × 16 mm, 115 × 22.23 mm, 125 × 22.23 mm and 180 × 22.23 mm with common grit options from coarse through to fine for finishing work.

STORAGE & HANDLING

Store flat in a dry, clean environment away from moisture, extreme temperatures, and direct sunlight. Always ensure compatibility with your grinder or machine, and do not exceed the stated maximum RPM.

Before use, inspect discs for damage or defects — do not use discs that have cracks, chips, or visible deformities. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, and respiratory protection when grinding. Follow machine manufacturer safety guidelines at all times.
